A year has passed since the most devastating assault on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. What makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking is that it occurred in Israel, a country founded as a haven of safety and peace for the Jewish people – particularly Holocaust survivors. Israel was officially established on May 14, 1948 – only three years after the Holocaust came to an end.
