Having parents who served in Jewish missions for over 40 years, Nigel was raised in an environment where God’s love for Israel and the Jewish people was vibrantly expressed. This gave Nigel excellent insight into God’s plans and purposes concerning Israel, past, present and future, enabling him to become an excellent resource for the local church in such topics as Jewish evangelism, Israel in prophecy, and the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. Nigel came to personal faith in Jesus around age 7, and was baptised in the sea off the coast of Tonga at age 13. His background in primary school education has afforded him teaching positions in New Zealand and overseas. With a view toward working full time as a representative of CMNZ in the lower North Island, Nigel is currently seeking prayer partners and financial supporters who will partner with him in this endeavor. His role would include teaching in churches, supporting hosts (of Israeli travelers) in the lower North Island, and developing disciplemaking networks nationally. Nigel has an earnest desire to assist New Zealand believers in becoming more intentional in their efforts to make reproducing, fully functioning disciples of Jesus Christ, and to become more effective in sharing the Gospel with the lost sheep of the House of Israel.
standard-title Nigel Christensen
As the Elders of the Coast Community Church we are writing to commend Nigel Christensen as he exercises the gifts God has given him in teaching, preaching and discipling. Nigel has been a member of the fellowship at the Coast Community Church for 18 years and during that time we have seen him seek to exercise and increase in his areas of gifting. Nigel is a clear communicator with an in-depth knowledge of the Bible which he shares in a manner that makes the teaching clear and accessible for people from all walks of life. He has a passion for people engaging with the Word of God and applying it in their lives. Nigel and his family feel God’s call to engage full time in ministry that builds the Church and promotes the expansion of God’s kingdom. To quote Nigel, he would like to ‘devote his life to sharing God’s word in terms of evangelism and discipleship’. Nigel also has a passion to reach Jewish people so they come to know salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. He is a representative of Celebrate Messiah New Zealand whose vision is to bring the Message of Messiah back to the original Messengers and to equip the church to do likewise. This has both evangelistic and discipleship elements. As an Eldership we are supportive of Nigel as he seeks to minister full time, to the churches of New Zealand and his active involvement in the ministry of Celebrate Messiah. We would encourage you to consider how you can prayerfully and practically support Nigel as the Lord leads you.
Nigel Christensen’s passion and knowledge for the Bible mixed with his wit and speaking ability make him a great addition to any event. We have been lucky enough to have him speak both at our church The Kings Arms and more recently at Forest Lakes Easter Camp 2017 where he shared on the Jewish Passover tradition and history. He delivered the message in a way that was good for both old and new Christians alike with great teaching and participation. I highly recommend Nigel. If you are looking for a passionate speaker on the Word of God he is your man.
